Hermit Crab Botanical Enrichment Pack

Give your hermit crabs the naturalistic habitat they crave. This 15-piece botanical enrichment pack is curated specifically for hermit crab keepers who want to go beyond plastic decor and provide real foraging enrichment, natural hides, and mental stimulation — all with chemical-free, all-natural seed and nut pod botanicals.

What's Included

• 1 Lotus Pod Head (3+ inches in diameter) — a fascinating foraging puzzle; hermit crabs love investigating every chamber
• 1 Coconut Hut (4 to 4.75 inches diameter, opening 1.75–2 inches tall) — a natural coconut shell hide that hermit crabs are instinctively drawn to
• 1 Jungle Pod (3–5 inches, varies) — adds structure and a climbing surface to the enclosure
• 10 Catappa Indian Almond Leaves (medium-sized) — hermit crabs love to forage through leaf litter; catappa leaves are nutritious, safe to eat, and help maintain humidity
• 1 Thin Cholla Wood (5–6 inches long, ~1/4" diameter) — a lightweight climbing and chewing piece that develops biofilm over time
• 1 Sea Urchin Shell (1.5–2 inches) — a unique natural accent and foraging surface

Because these are natural products, each piece varies in color, size, and shape — no two packs are exactly alike.

Why Botanicals for Hermit Crabs?

In the wild, hermit crabs forage through leaf litter, climb over bark and seed pods, and chew on a wide variety of natural materials. Botanicals recreate this environment and provide:

• Foraging enrichment — hours of exploring, climbing, and chewing
• Nutritional variety — safe to eat, with trace minerals and fiber
• Claw health — chewing on harder pods keeps claws active
• Mental stimulation — a varied environment reduces stress
• Natural shelter — hides that feel instinctively safe

How to Use

No sterilization needed — simply add botanicals directly to your hermit crab enclosure. Any mold that appears is completely natural and safe; hermit crabs will often eat it. Layer the enclosure floor with the Catappa leaves, place the Coconut Hut and Lotus Pod for structure, and scatter the remaining pieces throughout.

If using in an aquarium or paludarium: boil botanicals for at least 15 minutes and soak overnight before adding to the tank to remove excess tannins and help them sink.

All NaturePods botanicals are 100% natural, unbleached, and free from pesticides and chemical treatments — safe for hermit crabs to interact with and consume. As natural products, each piece varies in size, shape, and color. Not for human consumption.
