Palm Blossom Stalk

Palm blossom stalks are the flower stalks of female Borassus flabellifer trees found across tropical Asia. These dried unique branches are stunning and functional additions to natural bioactive enclosures, paludariums and blackwater and biotope aquascapes on the botanical method.  Isopods and springtails enjoy colonizing the textured areas of blossom stalk, and shrimp and small invertebrates will feed on the biofilm.

Aquarium Preparation

1. Boil: Boil for at least 15 minutes to help them sink and leach initial tannins.  The branch is large, so it may be necessary to "flip" the branch around so both ends are boiled.
2. Soak: Soak in clean water overnight or longer, changing water daily, until fully waterlogged and desired tannin level is reached.
3. Ready to Use: Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, add to your tank.

Please Note: As a natural product, each branch will vary in size, shape, and color. Intended for decorative, craft, and aquarium/vivarium use only. Not for human consumption.
