Starfish eChew — Fillable Nylon Chew & Enrichment Toy for Medium to Large Dogs

The SodaPup Starfish eChew is a very durable nylon chew toy designed for medium to large dogs — with a feature that sets it apart. The starfish’s built-in pockets aren’t just part of the design: they’re made to be filled with soft foods like peanut butter, yogurt, wet food, or cream cheese, turning a tough nylon chew into a rewarding enrichment experience. Chew the arms. Lick from the pockets. One toy, two ways to engage. While no dog toy is indestructible, SodaPup nylon toys are very durable and built to outlast rubber and plush alternatives — always supervise your dog during use.

Key Features

• Fillable pockets for enrichment — the standout feature: The built-in pockets across the starfish arms are specifically designed to hold soft foods like peanut butter, yogurt, wet food, or cream cheese — pack them in and let your dog work to lick every bit out for extended mental engagement
• Very durable nylon construction: Built to outlast rubber, plush, and standard nylon toys — no dog toy is indestructible, so always supervise chew sessions and replace when significantly worn
• Ideal for medium to large dogs: At 4.6 oz and designed for dogs 15–80 lbs, the Starfish is well-suited for medium and large breeds with strong jaws
• Five-armed starfish design: Multiple arms provide varied grip points and chewing surfaces, keeping dogs engaged from every angle
• Promotes dental health: Textured nylon surface helps clean teeth and massage gums with every chew
• FDA-compliant and safe: Non-toxic, food-safe nylon — safe for direct contact with the foods you fill it with
• Available in blue and red: Eye-catching colors that are easy to spot in the yard or at the park
• Versatile play: Works as a chew toy, fillable enrichment tool, and retrieving toy

How to Use the Starfish eChew

As a chew toy: Give directly to your medium or large dog for sustained gnawing. The five arms provide multiple grip points and the nylon surface offers satisfying chewing resistance. Always supervise and replace if the toy becomes significantly worn.

As a fillable enrichment toy: Pack the pockets with peanut butter, plain yogurt, wet food, cream cheese, pureed pumpkin, or any dog-safe soft food. Your dog will work to lick every bit from each arm — turning a chew session into a foraging puzzle. For a longer-lasting challenge, fill and freeze for 2–4 hours before giving to your dog.

Combined: The real magic is when your dog chews the starfish arms while working to access the filling in the pockets — delivering both physical chewing satisfaction and the calming mental engagement of licking enrichment simultaneously.

Why Fillable Pockets Make All the Difference

Most nylon chew toys are solid — great for chewing, but offering no enrichment beyond the chew itself. The Starfish eChew’s fillable pockets change that. By packing them with soft foods, you extend engagement time, add mental stimulation, and give food-motivated dogs a reason to keep coming back to the toy. Five pockets across five arms means more surface area, more licking, and longer enrichment sessions than a single-hole toy.

Enrichment Benefits

• Mental stimulation: Working to access food from multiple pockets engages problem-solving instincts and reduces boredom
• Separation anxiety: Fill and freeze before you leave — gives anxious dogs a focused, calming activity during alone time
• Slow feeding: Pack with a meal’s worth of wet food to slow consumption and support healthy digestion
• Cooperative care: Use as a distraction during grooming, nail trims, or vet visits
• Redirects destructive chewing: Gives medium and large dogs an appropriate, satisfying outlet for their natural chewing instincts

• Medium to large dogs (15–80 lbs) who are power chewers or aggressive chewers

• Dogs who destroy rubber or plush toys quickly
